Scandinavian Days is here!
If you aren't familiar with Scandinavian Days, you're gonna be just fine. But in a nutshell, it's my town's festival that celebrates our Scandinavian roots (though I'm actually German, so I kindof feel like a traitor when I celebrate, ya know?)
Scandinavian Days is the first weekend of June every year, and it's pretty lame if you are between the ages of 10 and 21. There aren't carnival rides, but there are kiddie games and a beer garden. And a lot of food carts.
I decided it was about time in my life to try a classic food dipped in grease and breading.. yum? I found the Sweet Fun Concessions cart and proceeded to stand in line for about 26 minutes. When it was finally my turn, I ordered a Fried Brownie.
Now, the only "fried carnival food" I'd ever had was a funnel cake. I do like funnel cakes, but I don't like dark chocolate or fudge very much -- I took a risk.
It was basically a brownie surrounded by a funnel cake. And it was pretty good! And oh so very rich! I only ate about half of it, and then I shared with my friends. I decided I didn't want to have a stomachache for the next 8 hours.
In other news, I found some lovely flowers on the way home.
